  • Nomadic Press 2301 Telegraph Avenue Oakland, CA United States (map)

Four gender non-conforming/trans readers share some of their recent work in performance: Reece Muldrow, Natasha Dennerstein, Mason J., and Avren Keating!

Information about the performers:

New to the bay area literary scene, Reece Muldrow is currently working on getting his first book. A series of short stories focusing on science fiction, comedy and transgender related issues.

Natasha Dennerstein was born in Melbourne, Australia, to a family originating in Belarus. She worked as a psychiatric nurse for many years, which gave her an interesting perspective on the human condition. She has an MFA from San Francisco State University. Natasha has had poetry published in many journals including Landfall, Snorkel, Shenandoah, Bloom, Transfer, Red Light Lit, Spoon River Poetry Review and Foglifter. Her collections Anatomize (2015), Triptych Caliform (2016) and her novella-in-verse About a Girl (2017) were published by Norfolk Press in San Francisco. Her chapbook Seahorse (2017) was published by Nomadic Press in Oakland.

Mason J. is a Multidisciplinary Artist, Community Organizer, and recovering A-hole. Inspired by life as an Afro-Indigenous SF Local, 2nd Gen American, & Queer/Trans Person of Color their work blends an unlikely pairing of tenderness and nihilistic flippancy.

Avren Keating's a poet and artist. They've published in Queen Mob's Teahouse, Omniverse, and THEM: A Trans* Lit Journal. Avren also hosts Waves Breaking, a podcast for trans and gender-variant poetry.
