Tureeda Mikell is a poet, educator, griot, and elocutionist. She is also been known as a Story Medicine Woman consultant combining behavioral life sciences within folktales, fables, allegories, and song. Works were most recently anthology published in, Black Gold, an Anthology- Representing the Americas, Africa and the Caribbean, 542 pp, Forbidden Medicine and Story Medicine II. Tureeda is a winner of the 2015 Oakland Arts Grant.
DeShara Suggs-Joe is a MFA Candidate at California College of the Arts where she studies Writing. She got a B.A at Columbia College Chicago in Marketing Communications. She made a transition into poetry in 2013 by way of a Cave Canem workshop in Brooklyn. She has two poetry videos forthcoming, and she currently compiling #butimcrazy posts found on her Instagram set to be released next year. She likes to write about social issues with a special interest on black woman, and her new home of Oakland.
Ian Acredolo is a guitarist, singer, composer, and musical educator working out of the Bay Area. The inspiration for his music and songwriting comes from intimate self examination, complex harmonies, and a desire to affect others with his songs. His largest musical influences are John Mayer and Sting. Ian has played in several Bay Area performing jazz, funk, R&B, and rock bands.
