Join us for a very special evenings of readings by Jee Leong Koh and Soma Mei Sheng Frazier and musical performances by T. B. D.
A Singapore writer living in New York City, Jee Leong Koh is the author of four books of poems and a book of essays. His latest book of poems Steep Tea (Carcanet Press) was named a Best Book of 2015 by Financial Times. His book of poetic essays The Pillow Book was shortlisted for the Singapore Literature Prize and translated into Japanese. He runs the arts website Singapore Poetry, the Second Saturdays Reading Series, and the Singapore Literature Festival in New York.
Soma Mei Sheng Frazier is an East Coast Native living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Salve (recently published by Nomadic Press) is Soma’s second chapbook of stories. Her debut fiction collection, Collateral Damage: A Triptych, earned praise from Nikki Giovanni, Daniel Handler (AKA Lemony Snicket), Antonya Nelson, Sarah Shun-lien Bynum, Molly Giles and others – and won the RopeWalk Press Editor’s Fiction Chapbook Prize. You can find her work online in publications including Eclectica Magazine, Carve Magazine, Eleven Eleven, Kore Press and Glimmer Train (bulletin 72, also featuring Anthony Doerr and Kate Gale).
