Oakland poet, Kira Lynne Allen: founder, facilitator and author of WRITE THIS SECOND, her newly released poetic memoir. She earned her GED, a BA in Creative Writing from Mills College and a Master's in Transformative Arts from JFK University In six-and-half-years. She was voted poet and woman of the year at Mills College. Kira is a beloved staff member at VONA Voices Writing Workshops and a Poetry for the People Alum. Where she comes from poetry is an urgent, truth-telling, visceral art, filled with cadence and intuition, intent on making people uncomfortable with silence.

Melinda Noack is an editor-poet-human living in Oakland. She helped create the temple of books known as Lacuna, which recently debuted at the Bay Area Book Festival, and is a regular of the local writing group-DIY publisher, If I Told Napoleon. She was featured in The Hundy reading series in Downtown Oakland, and her work has appeared in Two Lines Press, Oatmeal Magazine, and The Cal Literature & Arts Magazine. She is also a firm believer in hot sauce.

Sol is the newly formed duo of Vivian Allen and Kiana Parker. Both are passionate, talented young ladies who posses old souls. Allen and Parker are graduates of Oakland School for the Arts (OSA), located inside the Fox Theater. Through OSA, countless opportunities opened for them educationally and musically with performances in: Los Angeles, New York City, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, and at the Fox Theatre for President Obama (to name a few), all before the age of 18. Both Allen and Parker performed in OSA’s Concert Choir and in the award winning A Capella group Vocal Rush. Parker, who graduated a year after Allen, was on NBC's The Sing Off with Vocal Rush, where they placed third. Sol is a socially conscious mix of spiritual healing music, neo soul, R&B, electronic and world music; they are extremely humbled and grateful to perform and share their love of music with audiences.

There is ample street parking, but just to make it easy, there is an O'Reilly Auto Parts/Walgreens on the corner of Fruitvale and Foothill with a huge parking lot. Here's a Google Map link:'Reilly+Auto+Parts/@37.789393,-122.233008,14z/data=!4m5!1m2!2m1!1so+reilly+auto+parts+near+Foothill+Blvd,+Oakland,+CA!3m1!1s0x0000000000000000:0xa74c9fbc2152bd68

Nomadic Press should show up on that map as well. We are just in between Austin and Rutherford on Foothill.

Hope to see you soon!
