Join us for a very special evening of readings with Javier O. Huerta and Nataly Ortiz. With musical guest Iwalani Venerable.

Nataly Ortiz is a Chicana writer. Her work is focused on activism around women and children. She is group facilitator in the RAICES program at Mission Girls. She is a featured writer-performer in the Loco Bloco theater production of "On The Hill" the Alex Nieto story premiering October 27, 2016 at BRAVA Theatre in San Francisco. She finds freedom in singing and dancing.

Javier O. Huerta's debut collection Some Clarifications y otros poemas (Arte Publico 2007) received the 31st Chicano/Latino Literary Prize from UC Irvine. He is also the author of American Copia (2012). A graduate of the Bilingual MFA Program at UT El Paso, Huerta currently lives in Berkeley.

Donations will be called for throughout the night, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds. 

Wine and Red Bay coffee will be available.
