Grab a drink, a friend, and join Nomadic Press in the back room of The Cobra Club in Bushwick for poetry from Joanna Valente, Sara Emily Kuntz, Prospero Vega, and Amber Nelson, with music by Amy Sheehan. Then stick around for TCC's weekly Nelson-hosted "Live From Outer Space" comedy showcase afterward.

Donations will be kindly called for, though no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

JOANNA VALENTE

Joanna C. Valente is the Managing Editor for Luna Luna Magazine. She is the author of Sirs & Madams (Aldrich Press, 2014) and The Gods Are Dead (Deadly Chaps, 2015), and received her MFA at Sarah Lawrence College. Her full-length collection Marys of the Sea is forthcoming from ELJ Publications in 2016. She also has a chapbooks, Xenos, forthcoming from Imaginary Friend Press. Some of her work appears, or is forthcoming, in The Brooklyn Rail, BORT Quarterly, The Huffington Post, Columbia Journal, among others. She founded Yes, Poetry in 2010. SARA EMILY KUNTZ

Sara Emily Kuntz is a Brooklyn-based workshop facilitator and committee member for Union Square Slam, a weekly reading series in New York City. As an enterprising copy shop employee, she self-published ten single poem mini-books, as well as a limited run chapbook. She has been published in the Mom Egg Review, Rivet, Stone Highway Review, Cabildo Quarterly, Rust + Moth, and Cactus Heart.

PROSPERO VEGA

Prospero Vega is Bushwick-raised writer, performer and filmmaker. His writing has appeared in Bushwick Nightz, Bodega Monthly and been mentioned in Brooklyn Magazine and Brooklyn Based. He is currently working on his book of short stories about growing up in Brooklyn. 

AMBER NELSON

Amber Nelson is a New York-based comedian who performs stand up, sketch, and improv. Every Friday night, she hosts the "Live From Outer Space" comedy showcase at The Cobra Club. In addition to her touring and online video work, she recently read as part of September's Nomadic Press "Jokebooks Live!" event.

AMY SHEEHAN

Amy Sheehan is the lead singer of Brooklyn band The LoveHowl, which looks to bring some soul to NYC's Indie Rock scene. The band developed from Sheehan's solo material, and has morphed into a gutsy roots rock act. Her performance at Cobra Club comes a day before The LoveHowl's next gig on November 21st at Brooklyn's Rock Shop at 8 PM. For more info, go to: http://www.lovehowl.com/
