Folk Night at Dun-Well Doughnuts: Hosted By Ben Kronberg

Nomadic Press visits Dun-Well Donuts in East Williamsburg to co-present the March edition of their monthly Folk Night series hosted by Ben Kronberg. Comedians include Aparna Nancherla, Jo Firestone, Khalid Rahmann, Carmen Lagala, and Bob Palos, with music by Imrahn Ahmed and Emily Frembgen. 

In addition to the great comedy and music, snacks and drinks will also be provided.


Ben Kronberg is a Brooklyn-based comedian whose act is marked by a unique style that blends clever one-liners and witty observations with catchy songs that he performs while playing instruments, or just his smartphone. He has had his own Comedy Central half hour special, and currently creates original content for the web, while regularly hosting Folk Night at Dun-Well Doughnuts. Aparna Nancherla is comedian who has written for Late Night with Seth Meyers and Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. Her comedic style is dry and observational, and her act is sprinkled with absurdist wit and a whimsical point-of-view. For more info, go to

Jo Firestone is a comedian and producer based in Brooklyn, NY. She has created and hosts several live shows around the city that usually fall under the genres of "low-brow" "recurring" and "only for indoor kids". She can be seen at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater hosting The Incredible Game Show Showcase and The Unexpectashow and at Littlefield hosting Punderdome 3000 with her dad, Fred. You can also see Jo doing stand-up in different basements around the city, and listen to her every Monday night from 6-7pm EST hosting Dr. Gameshow on WFMU with her good pal, Manolo. Khalid Rahmaan is a Brooklyn-based standup comic. You can find Khalid integrating his gentrified Brooklyn neighborhood at his monthly show “It's Sooo Up & Coming". Carmen Lagala is a New York City comedian originally from Vermont, where she is still a member of The Vermont Comedy Divas. She was a finalist in 2014’s Vermont’s Funniest Comedian Competition, was crowned the winner of the 9th annual Higher Ground Comedy Battle in 2013, and was a part of last year’s Women in Comedy Festival in Boston. You can catch Carmen performing at several NYC venues, including her current home base of The Creek and The Cave in Long Island City.
