PROJECT COMICS AT BROOKLYN ART LIBRARY

Come out to Brooklyn Art Library at 28 Frost Street in Williamsburg (home of The Sketchbook Project) for a Thursday evening Nomadic Press showcase of comic book artists projecting and talking about their work. The line-up is curated by Bushwick Daily cartoonist Jeremy Nguyen, and includes Tony Wolf, Alyssa Jo Varner, Ellis Rosen, and Drew Zucker.

TONY WOLF

Tony Wolf is an illustrator, actor, singer, voice-over guy, host, & rabid pop culture fan living in Greenpoint in the same apartment for the past 20 years. His autobio comics ‘Greenpoint of View’ and ‘1-800-DEAD-ROBIN’ have been featured in New York Magazine & Gothamist.  His comedy videos have been featured on The Huffington Post, College Humor, Funny Or Die, and Vulture. He loves smoothies.

ALYSSA JO VARNER

Alyssa Jo Varner is a graphic designer and comics creator living in Brooklyn. Her current comic book series, Blown Away, is a sci-fi noir about friendship and weird weather. Alyssa grew up in the Midwest and studied creative writing at the University of Iowa. She is the worst bowler you've ever seen.

ELLIS ROSEN

Ellis Rosen is the comics editor of Blunderbuss Magazine. He is also a contributor to the Eisner-nominated graphic anthology Yiddishkeit: Jewish Vernacular and the New Land and the Illustrator of a children's chapter book,  Woundabout from Little, Brown and Co. His work can be seen on various websites including The Paris Review, The Progressive, and The Millions.

DREW ZUCKER

Drew Zucker is a 2010 graduate of the Savannah College of Art and design sequential program.  He has worked as the artist and Co-creator for the critically acclaimed series Skybreaker from Monkeybrain/IDW comics.  His works also include numerous short stories published by FUBAR press, and commercial storyboard work Ghost Robot.  His most recent work is The House a self published horror comic of which he is the artist and Co-Creator of.  He resides in New York City with his wife and monster (dog), riding around the mean streets of the South Bronx as an EMT.
